The student-designed Rethink Foam Chair - Core77

Check out the Rethink Foam Chair, made with sound insulation foam and done as a student project by two ID students from Canada's Emily Carr University of Art & Design for Rethink Communications.

Students Anna Gukov and Amanda Huynh produced the design under the guidance of Ian Grais, Rethink co-creative director, who also came up with the concept.

Rethink's website indicates there are no plans for mass production, though apparently you can pre-order a one-off by e-mailing Grais directly. Click here for the link.

Incidentally, you may have seen this making the cyberspace rounds and being incorrectly attributed to "Emily Carr Industrial Design." Folks, Emily Carr ain't a firm, it's a school; they've got their website right here.
