Au chineur
L'isle sur la sorgue
Since many of you seem to have enjoyed the antique shop in Bonnieux, how about an antiques cafe ? This cafe called Au chineur is a landmark in L'isle sur la Sorgue. What makes it so special is that it is entirely furnished with antiques. A real fun place to visit! I was kindly authorised to take pictures inside.
The tables are old sewing machines where the machine has been replaced by a glass table top. The original heavy cast iron base, foot pedal and wooden top still remain. Old advertising signs cover the walls and the chairs are sturdy old wooden bistrot ones. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming.
Hot beer, lousy food, bad service - welcome, have a nice day! This sign must have drawn more than one smile from English speaking patrons !
